I am the author-illustrator of the Supersized Squirrel series of books (Oxford University Press) —and the illustrator of The Super League of Super Scientists (Anna Claybourne, Franklin Watts), Outer Space Mystery Pizza Club (Bruce Hale, Penguin) and Dead Sea Squirrels (Mike Nawrocki, Tyndale), among numerous others.

Born in Canada, I call myself a Canadian Illustrator-Author, even though I’ve lived abroad for half my life.

I was a child of divorce in the 1970s, am a father of four, a dog owner, a DIY’ er, a summer lover, an immigrant to Scandinavia, and a lifetime outsider. Much experience goes into making my simple, goofy, and cosy drawings.

I’m obsessed with big thoughts, silly jokes, how things work—and wild ideas for improving them.

My influences range from Richard Scarry to Yuval Noah Harari, The Beatles to Kamasi Washington, À Bout de Souffle to Star Wars, and Looney Tunes to Mindhunter.
